Choosing an AI Consultant in Swindon and Wiltshire: Seven Questions to Ask First
Anyone can call themselves an AI consultant now. These are the questions that separate a person who will change how your business runs from one who will hand you a report.
To find an AI automation consultant in Wiltshire, shortlist two or three, ask each who does the building, which of your existing tools it will run in and who supports it afterwards. Dean Keating, based in Horndean, Hampshire, installs AI agents remotely for Wiltshire firms. The first call is free: 07418 627304.
Start with the job, not the label
Most small firms looking for an AI consultant have one specific headache: enquiries that go cold, quotes nobody chases, invoices that go out late. Write that headache down before you ring anyone. A consultant who starts by asking about it is a better sign than one who starts with a presentation about the future.
Seven questions
1. Who builds it? Some consultants advise and leave you to build. Others build and hand over. Ask who will actually be configuring the system on your accounts.
2. Which of my tools will it use? A sensible answer names the email, calendar, WhatsApp or accounting software you already have, not a new platform you must adopt.
3. What is the first job? A good consultant picks one task and does it properly. Dean Keating's website says he starts with the single task that makes the most difference.
4. What do I walk away with if we stop after the first call? His site says you leave the free call with a plan you can use with or without him. Ask the same of everyone.
5. Who trains my staff? Software that nobody on the team trusts gets switched off within weeks.
6. Who looks after it when something changes? Tools update, forms move, a phone number changes. Ask who is on the hook.
7. What does it cost, and when will I know? Dean does not publish a price list. The cost depends on what is automated and is given after the free call, with no obligation. Whatever the answer, get it in writing before you commit.
A local picture
This directory lists 27 businesses, mostly in food, drink, accommodation and shopping, and its area pages cover Old Town, the town centre, the Railway Village, West Swindon, Coate, Highworth, Royal Wootton Bassett and Wroughton. A firm in any of those places can use a remote consultant, because most of the work happens in software.
Where Dean fits
Dean Keating is based in Horndean, Hampshire. The build and install are remote, and his website says he can visit businesses in Hampshire or nearby in person. He is not in Wiltshire. If you would rather meet someone across a table, say so up front, and compare him with providers who are.
